Santi Mina has a chance to win his first trophy as a Valencia CF player this Saturday, as he is in the running to play in his maiden Copa del Rey final for the club. The striker chatted to VCF Media this week to look ahead to the meeting with FC Barcelona at the Benito Villamarín, which has got the players and the fans highly motivated.
"We're really up for it and we're really excited, just like everybody is. I think that this final is a reward for a season in which we've put in a lot of fight, a lot of effort and a lot of hard work," explained the Galician forward.
"There have been bad moments that we have been able to overcome together, and it's a cup that everyone at the club and in the city is excited about. We're going to go to Sevilla looking to win that cup that we want so much."
On his side's chances against the reigning cup holders, Mina said that:
"We're approaching this final as something that we have to enjoy, and something that we've earned. Qualifying for the Champions League has loosened us up and given us more strength and desire to fight until the final game. I have no doubt that both the starting XI and those who come on later to help the team will give everything. We're Valencia CF and we have every possibility of winning the cup."
"I think it would make it a brilliant season. It would be a success for all of the Valencianistas and all of the players. I think that for me, having spent four years here, it would be a source of pride to lift a trophy with this club."
